Context
How I turned Curiosity into Clarity
When I joined PropGPT, I faced two layers of complexity: a product that was struggling to turn raw sports data into a usable app, and an industry I knew nothing about. I had never watched an NFL game, never placed a sports bet, and could barely tell a touchdown from a field goal. Instead of letting that gap intimidate me, I treated it as fuel. I watched live games with my founder, experienced the energy of fans, and even played Madden on PlayStation to learn the rules firsthand.
That curiosity became my way into clarity. I could see the product as a new user would: overwhelmed, unsure, but eager for insight. By pairing that fresh perspective with structured design methods, I redesigned PropGPT from the ground up simplifying flows, building a scalable design system, and crafting an experience that feels intuitive even to someone new to betting in any sport. Along the way, I navigated real-world constraints like tight timelines, scrapped research sprints, and dev limitations that forced me to adapt.
Problem
PropGPT’s power was hidden behind confusing flows and cluttered screens.
One Flow Tried to Do Two Jobs
Evaluating a bet is about clarity and decision-making. Building a parlay is about exploration and risk-taking. Mixing them together caused overload. Users weren’t sure if they were finishing one bet or stacking multiple.

No Discovery, Users Went to Discord
Without quick, trustworthy discovery, users saw PropGPT as extra work instead of a daily habit. The app couldn’t compete with the fast, social discovery experience on Discord.

Every Bet Was Auto-Saved to Parlays
Users didn’t need every bet they searched to be saved. Even worse, on the homepage. There was no separation between individual bets and parlays which frustrated users.
